Meet our leading ladies...

This International Women's Day, we celebrate the achievements of the incredible women at Wiltshire Pension Fund—trailblazers who are shaping the future of pensions.
The pensions industry has historically been male-dominated, but that's changing—today, 75% of our team are women, and represent 78% of our scheme membership, reflecting a more diverse and inclusive future. As a Fund our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity is not just a pledge; it's embedded into our culture with 90% of our staff agreeing WPF actively promotes an inclusive workplace!
Women across our organisation are driving progress, whether through leadership roles, innovative improvements, or direct engagement with our scheme members.
My progress at WPF has been down to a combination of career growth, supportive training and mentors, and a workplace that values work-life balance. I've been inspired by so many other successful women on the team and hope others will embrace their opportunities and keep pushing forward, knowing that success doesn't have to come at the expense of personal well-being.
- Katy Hutchinson, Fund Operations Manager
I find immense reward in my role at Wiltshire Pension Fund because it allows me to contribute to a culture of collaboration, growth, and innovation. What drives me is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day and knowing that my efforts contribute towards the funds vision to ensure we provide an outstanding service to our scheme employers and members.
- Mollie Huntley, Employer Support Senior Officer
Following a secondment into Employer Services Manager, I discovered my passion for managing, empowering my team, and helping them reach their full potential. Being a manager is rewarding, with challenges that push me to grow, and watching my team grow under my guidance is incredibly fulfilling. I'm passionate about delivering excellent service to our employers and members and my role in making WPF the best place to work!
- Nat Harrison, Employer Services Manager
"I started in Wiltshire Pension Fund 8 years ago as a systems assistant and through the amazing progression opportunities within the fund, I have progressed to my current role. This would not have been possible had it not been for the supportive people that I work with that encourage me to strive for more, that support all my training needs and allow the work life balance that so many other employers fail to provide."
- Sian Shepherd, Employer Services Work Management Officer
Since starting at WPF I have had opportunities to develop in my career that I am confident would not of been possible, if not for the supportive leadership at the Fund and flexible working options. I feel inspired at WPF to be the best version of myself, and to deliver that standard day in day out for our members. Receiving such fantastic support drives me to share that with my team and others, in helping them reach their full potential!
- Krystie Waterhouse, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Lead
Growing my own career at WPF would not have been possible without the family friendly policies - any employer who fails to provide this supportive environment is missing out on the benefits that come from a more diverse workforce. I am incredibly proud of all the amazing women featured in this article! The way they have all progressed in their careers at WPF has been a real inspiration!"
- Jennifer Devine, Head of Wiltshire Pension Fund
The success stories of these fantastic women showcase the growth, opportunities, and support available in our industry, inspiring the next generation to follow in their footsteps.

The Gender Pension Gap: Why It Matters
While we celebrate International Womens day, its clear progress is being made- although there is still work to be done. Women's pensions remain significantly lower than men's due to factors such as maternity leave and part time working to take care of loved ones.
Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and Womens Pensions
- Membership in the LGPS is 74% female
- 40% of members earn less than £15,000*
- Womens pensions on average are 35% less than mens*
- Average annual women's pension in Wiltshire Pension Fund is £2,117 which is £1,412 less than the average men's pension
